We Notice You’ve Been Missing A Lot of Work Lately
Today is a good day, kittens. Today, I booked the remainder of my vacation days that I had to take before starting my year of maternity leave.
Take a beat and re-read that sentence. I had to book vacation time before taking a year off work.
Nothing is sweeter than a day off when everyone else is working.

I can bitch and moan all I want about being underpaid and having monkeys for coworkers, but I can not complain about our vacation policy. Five weeks a year is nothing to shake a stick at. It’s incredible. I don’t hate my job anyway…I work with good people (all monkeys aside) and my day-to-day tasks aren’t really filled with much stress. Add to that 25 days of vacation annually and it’s pretty hard to complain.
I still complain about the monkeys. They deserve it.

So today, my life is the best life because of our enviable vacation policy. I’m well aware that most places offer two weeks.
Did you know that I don’t have to work a five day work week again until November 2013? I know, right? THE BEST LIFE!
oh my god. i DREAM to have a year off of work… 3 weeks is more than most get, and it STILL wasn’t enough for me. i could easily take 6 months and just REST and collect my $h!t. you’re great, what are you going to do on your vacation?!?! your job rocks, monkeys and all. {they just make you look better anyway}
I mostly just took days off for midwife appointments, and then made a bunch of long weekends. I spaced the last of my days out so that I wouldn’t ever have a full work week again. BLISS!

anita! how the heck do you get 5 weeks?? I thought you had to work like 20yrs there (or longer LOL) before you were given that! i started with 2 weeks..and that scared me lol assumin this is still MI hahah

I think everyone starts with 20 days now, and I just had my five-year anniversary (oh god REALLY?!?!) and so now I get 25 days. That’s pretty hard to leave!
PS, i always wonder what your voice is like…
OMG you know how people hear their voice and get freaked out because it never sounds like it does in their head? That’s totally me. I can’t STAND hearing my voice unless it’s from the inside.
I apologize in advance for our Skype date. Maybe you should have TWO bottles of wine ready, just in case…
