Life is the Flower
Life is the flower for which love is the honey – Victor Hugo
Wanna know the best part about having a baby? THE BABY, you guys. Come on. What did you expect here???
But wanna know what else is really nice? A house full of flowers. There’s something so fresh and lovely about looking around and seeing colours and life everywhere. I once knew a fellow who didn’t believe in giving flowers. Spoiler alert: I didn’t marry him. You know what? We all know that flowers will die eventually, but it doesn’t make them any less beautiful when they’re alive.
My beautiful friends from work had flowers delivered today and it was the nicest surprise ever. While it’s always nice to get flowers in person, there is something fancy feeling about having them arrive on your doorstep.
Have y’all ever seen Bed of Roses? Christian Slater (who stole my heart in Heathers and kept it in Pump Up the Volume) plays a florist and if I could do my life over, I wouldn’t change a thing because look where it has gotten me. But if I were someone completely different and had no hope of ever getting what I have now, I would want to be a florist. Because what an amazing life that would be. To be surrounded by flowers all day, every day. Your life would smell AMAZING! And people would always be so happy to see you! And now, just so you know, as soon as I hit “Publish” on this post, I’m going to watch Bed of Roses. Aahhhhh…a blissful day full of flowers.
See? And I bet you were worried that all my posts from now on would be about babies. Come on…I’m completely capable of talking about other stuff!
Even though I DO have the cutest baby on the planet.
BEAUTIFUL! The flowers AND the baby!
AND YOU!!!
I personally LOVE flowers…and who the heck doesn’t believe in giving flowers?? It’s not something you believe it…like it could not be real…no it has to happen. My hubby still surprises me with flowers, even after 7 years, though since he’s been working from home, there has been a flower shortage..I may have to put a bird in his ear about that.
Now I want to watch Bed of Roses, must see if Netflix has it…. 😦 They don’t have it live streaming….now this makes me want to get the 1 month free trail to the DVDs just to see if they have it!
I love the sock monkey with the flowers by the way, super cute!
Bob Marley is one of the cutest babies I’ve seen in awhile (I think he’s currently tied with Katie’s Fox in my book)
Thank you so much!!! And I hope that your flower shortage resolves itself soon.
Oh, your baby is gorgeous! Congratulations! I’ve often thought being a florist would be ideal. To be surrounded by fresh, beautiful flowers all day. What could ever really go wrong? Enjoy your day!
Thank you! Aaaaaahhhhhhh…the life of a florist. Beautiful!
That little Marley is so darn YUMMY! You are making me want to have another baby. Yikes! I already told hubby we’re done. Guess if we did go for baby #3, I’d definitely be the recipient of some lovely flowers. What a wonderful surprise to have them delivered at your home. Super SPECIAL!
Love it! Love you! You EXUDE positive-ness!
YOU DO TOO!!! And thank you for the Friday Pick! I’m beyond honoured.
My pleasure!
Oh he IS cute!! My uterus is so lonely right now 😉
Thank you! He makes my uterus proud.
Love Flowers!!! Love Babies!!! Love this post!!!
Thank you!!! Love this comment!!!

I love looking at flowers but my allergies prevent me from appreciating their beautiful scents.
Pump up the Volume was my adore at first sight encounter with Christian Slater. I somehow managed to miss Bed of Roses. I’ll have to remedy that oversight.
All babies are adorable, no comparison and judging for me, of course mine will always be cutest to me, but yours is adorablest in this very moment.
Btw, Diana sent me.
Blessings,
Kina
Thank you so much! I feel like I’ll probably let a lot of people down when they watch Bed of Roses…it’s not really THAT great a movie. I just like the idea of being a florist…
Love this! Diana sent me
Thanks! Diana is lovely!

now i want to go watch a christian slater movie.. xxoo
DO IT!!! It feels like a Pump Up the Volume kind of day to me…
Awwww – did you see Six Feet Under? There’s a character (the Mom) that does an amazing monologue about being a florist for all occasions –
CONGRATS on the lovely baby – cuter than sock monkey!
I saw Six Feet Under, but I don’t remember that part! In my defence, I was under all kinds of fun influences when I watched that series…
hee hee… she is talking about how different it is to work with flowers for brides, babies etc and she’s only ever worked with flowers for funerals…it was the first time I liked that character!
I swear, just THINKING about that show made me feel high right now.
post baby high
We used that Victor Hugo quote at our wedding. Purr.
Perfect. I was LOOKING for another reason to love you!
Local honey in tiny pots were our favors so we printed that quote and framed it by the honey pots. LOVE.
GAH!!! You’re seriously FLAWLESS!!! Are you sure you’re a real person???
Um, judging by the iPhone photos sent to me by friends of my dancing skills, YES. Barf.
