Colour Me Humble
WOW guys! What a crazy couple of days it has been! When I was sitting on my couch yesterday afternoon, writing a post with hormonal tears streaming down my face, I NEVER thought for an instant that this was going to be the day that I get Freshly Pressed!
And then it happened.
I’m not going to lie, of course I’ve wondered what it would be like to get that email. And you know what? It was just as amazing as I thought it would be, if not more! Husbandio got an instant phone call, and I’m sure he could barely understand what I was saying through all my excited blabbering!
I am honored and humbled by all the amazing comments and likes and followers that I have received. WOW, guys! Y’all are SO NICE! I swear, I will be checking everyone out once I can settle in comfortably at a computer for a couple of hours not on company time.
But now I have the unenviable task of writing the follow up post. What do you say to ensure people don’t think you were Freshly Pressed by mistake? Do I try to be extra profound and impress you with my wit and extensive knowledge of lots of stuff?
Nah. You’d see right through that crap.
So I bring to you a quick look at what you were supposed to see yesterday: BANOFFEE!!!
Clear your schedule for the afternoon, grab some simple ingredients, and say goodbye to your pants. This dessert is all you need to be happy (except for all the stuff I talked about in the other post…I still want all that stuff, too…)
The picture pretty much sums it up. It’s graham crackers, bananas, whipped cream and toffee. With optional chocolate shavings. Simplicity at it’s most delicious.
I had eaten this a couple of times at a restaurant up in cottage country, and now my beautiful sister in law made some for our dinner on Sunday night. Husbandio may not have realized, but I took home the biggest Tupperware you’ve ever seen FULL of Banoffee as a leftover.
I now have a dirty biggest-Tupperware-you’ve-ever-seen sitting empty in my sink. I shared with NO ONE. Give me a break here, people. I’m CREATING LIFE. And Husband, before you make any cracks, at least I didn’t wait until you opened the empty container to laugh at your sad, shocked expression. This time.
I don’t have any cute step by step pictures of me making the Banoffee, and I sure as hell don’t have any gruesome pictures of me devouring the Banoffee because they would NOT be ladylike. And the after-photos are really just cleverly Instagrammed pictures of my giant swollen belly. So just trust me on this one and get it in you!
And really, kittens, thanks for being awesome. I love each and every one of you.
